Macro Flower Photography Editing

One of my passions, a personal project of mine, is floral photography. Every time I go to the store, to the park, for a walk, I cannot help but to stop and examine the flowers. There are so many intricate details in such a small space, that blooms into great beauty.
I often stop and wonder what life would be like to live in such a small world. Most of the time we see flowers and we can relate beauty, softness, and a small item (usually). But what of the bee, or the ant? Are the petals soft to them? How large is that flower we see as small to the butterfly? What life must be like to live in that great of a world.
I then look at my children, and I start to think the same way. I can remember visiting certain places when I was young, and going back to visit now how much larger they seemed then. The world through a child's eye has to be mighty. I often catch myself just watching my children as they play, the magic in their world.
Well, I got off track completely. This was an attempt to talk about editing macro flower photos, or the lack of. See, with all the beauty in them, and my love, I have a hard time trying to decide where I want to take the editing. Sometimes I just get a feeling when it's right for me, other times, like above. I struggle.
I start with some basic edits like in the photos below and see what I like. Usually, I have to leave and revisit the changes I've made several times before something "speaks" to me. Once it does, once I know where to begin, the process of tweaking the image can take anywhere from minutes to days. I guess that's where my inner artist comes in at. With something so beautiful, I do not want to rush what took so long to grow into something magnificent.
